The Book About Birds Part 1, the first book for children from the author-driven project LittleBookBirdAndWiseOwl

The Book About Birds

– Part 1 –

The first children’s activity book in the LittleBookBirdAndWiseOwl project, where stories, bird facts, hands-on activities, coloring pages, cut-outs, and online games belong together.

Created from original stories and drawings by a 9-year-old boy, this first journey follows the Little Book Bird and the Wise Owl through fields, forests, rivers, towns, and the seashore, meeting 15 birds along the way.

Did you know that cuckoos trick other birds into raising their chicks, that great tits can remember dozens of food hiding spots, and that crows are among the smartest birds on Earth?

This is not just a book about birds. It is one connected journey with the ever-curious Little Book Bird and the Wise Owl, who always seems to have an answer. Together, they explore, question, and learn – while the child reads, colors, cuts, glues, and discovers along the way.

What’s inside the book?

Paperback · 76 pages · 216 × 279 mm (8.5 × 11 in), for reading, playing, and creating:

  • 15 bird stories,

  • coloring pages,
  • cut-out elements to match and glue onto the right pages,
  • a final page where a child can draw an idea for the next adventure and get the chance to help inspire future stories.

Why is this book different?

A child’s drawing can inspire the next story

At the end of the book, one more adventure begins. A child can draw an idea for the next journey of the Little Book Bird and the Wise Owl. If a drawing inspires a future story, it may be chosen for a later book and printed in it with the child’s name.

There were some questions at the end, which was nice for chatting about the story. You can feel...
